Makeup Review- Benefit’s Lust Dusters in ‘Big Daddy’
When a new fashion or makeup tends begin to grace the magazine stands, it hard for me not to give it a try. That’s why as soon as copper eye shadows and bronzed tones were featured in Allure Magazine, I instantly when online to find the perfect product. Naturally, I turned to Benefit Cosmetics. Their formulas always leave me satisfied, lasting long and keeping true to their color. Though there were a few other formulations, I wanted to buy a loose powder product because it would last longer in the summer heat and keep my eyelids from feeling heavy.
As soon as I tried Benefit Cosmetic’s Lust Duster in ‘Big Daddy’, I was happy to have made the purchase. The color was coppery enough to fit in the with the recent trend, and neutral enough to be timeless. It instantly brightened up my face, and complemented the color of my eyes I might add. Along with ‘Big Daddy’, I also tried ‘goldilocks’. I used this sunny, gold color at the inner and outer parts of my eyes to make them really pop without looking to done-up. Later, I blushed the color across the entire lid; again I was pleased with the color and the smoothness of the powder.

In the sun, regular glosses and lipsticks melt away as soon as they go outside, which is why I find it more convenient to wear a stain then trying to reapply ever 15 minutes. My general rule in the summer is apply makeup once, whatever fades; forget about it, so I like to have makeup that lasts. I was so excited when I found Suki’s lip and cheek stain. It was great because it doubled as a lip stain, and a cheek stain. When worn on the lips, it keeps the lips hydrated and healthy, with all natural ingredients, and without feeling greasy or heavy. On the cheeks, it blends perfectly as to look as natural as possible. I loved the longevity or the products (they even lasted a few dips into the pool!). Plus, all of Suki’s products are 100% natural and over 90% organic. So it made me feel good, and pretty.
 I loved all the shades, but my favorite was Vermillion. Its vibrant pink color when worn on the lips really made then pop, and flattered my tan. On the cheeks (I didn’t use a lot because my face had so much color already), the color just added a shimmer to my already sun-kissed face. I am looking forward to wearing the product when my face’s color goes down in the winter so I can see how much power Suki’s Lip and Cheek stain has. With its floral, timeless scent, and its ability to complement the natural smell of any woman, Miss Dior Cherie is by far my all time favorite perfume. I absolutely loved its longevity, and its subtle smell. I use it daily no matter what the occasion, and though I have many other perfumes, I just don’t feel right wearing Miss Dior Cherie. Its adorable bottle makes me feel youthful, and yet the scent is perfect for any age. I loved how it didn’t irritate my allergies (unlike many perfumes have a tendency to do with me), so I was happy throughout the entire day. Recently, M.A.C. put on the second sale that I have ever known them to have. The recent ‘Family and Friends Sale’ at M.A.C., which took 25% off all purchases from any collections (excluding the Viva Glam collection), unfortunately ended the 18th, before I had returned from my trip to Washington DC and I could tell all my faithful readers about it.
Though some of you didn’t get a chance to take advantage of this great sale, I was able to try a few of their newer products. As always, I was absolutely satisfied with M.A.C.’s rich pigments and the longevity of their products. Among the products I tried I was super happy with the Eyeshadow in Night Manoeuvres from their newest limited-edition collection, ‘Style Warrior’. Its satin color was light enough to look natural, yet was sophisticated enough to wear to a dinner party. I absolutely adored the container, and I couldn’t help but buying a few more colors from the collection simply for the tribal-chic container. And though it might be too late to take advantage of their ‘Family and Friends Sale’, M.A.C. is giving free shipping to all orders over $60.00!!

In my opinion, the best way to brighten your face is blush. In fact, when you find the perfect blush, you don’t even need foundation (which is nice during summer heat when foundation can clog pores and make the face feel greasy). Well, after spending days looking for my perfect summer blush, I was thrilled when I applied Smashbox’s Blush in Smashing Beachwood. It glided on easily, and was streak-free. The color lasted throughout the day and instantly brightened my face. During the summer, on of my favorite activites is swimming at the lake, and I hate how my eyes sting from eyeliner and mascara running. Or when at the neighborhood Fourth of July BBQ, who wants eyeliner running into their eyes from the summer heat? Well, ladies, I have found the solution. Benefit Cosmetic’s BADgal liner waterproof really delivers. Its the same classic liner (Benefit’s BADgal liner), which has became one of the company’s most famous products, but with a formula which keeps it from running or washing off in water. Ever since it hit the market, the liner was recognized for its ability to keep put, no matter how wet the conditions get. In fact, this year it received Self’s healthy beauty award, and its only a matter of time before more pile in!
This pencil is equipped with a built-in smudger, so you can keep it clean cut, or create a sultry smoky eye for the evening (I personally like keep it clean during the day, smoky at night).
